Comments:
* Western employed a vast number of idea- and storymen who wrote material for the drawing artists. These unknown employees supplied - fairly rarely - Barks with both basic ideas and rough scripts, which he finished.
NF76:
Until 1947 Barks was asked to draw 33 non-duck stories for Western (see more HERE). This was the first.
FC0189: When Barks made an adventure story, he was sometimes asked to draw the front cover illustrating the main story. This was the first. In all, Barks drew 271 published front covers of which he received the ideas for 143. The front cover ideas will not be mentioned here.
WH845: Barks' first children's book.
DD26: Converted by Barks from the cartoon of the same name.
WDCS160: Donald's head was not drawn by Barks.
WDCS174: Donald's head was not drawn by Barks.
KG
: A made-to-order story paid for by three electric power companies.
DD46: The nephews' faces were not drawn by Barks.
WDCS274: Originally a 9-pager which Barks stretched to a 10-pager.
