THE WRITTEN STORIES

Barks actually wrote most of his Junior Woodchucks stories a long time after he had stopped drawing. He wrote a number of stories which other artists such as Tony Strobl and  Daan Jippes illustrated according to his sketches. The common denominator for most of the stories were increasingly social, political or environmental messages, which presumably had a somewhat negative effect on the reader, as the special timeless magic of the duck universe was missing in these stories about modern day problems.

Below you will find a simple listing of all these stories which were released in Gold Key's Junior Woodchuck magazines from the 1970s.
