Alarming, many violations of the law take place in Carl Barks' duck stories! Most of them are, as expected, committed by criminals such as the Beagle Boys, Flintheart Glomgold, and Magica de Spell, and this is also true for the numerous one-story criminals who had to be fought through time - especially by Scrooge. But we have also witnessed many criminal offences committed by Barks' primary characters, whom we normally think of as law-abiding citizens! Still, we tend to excuse or even dismiss their questionable acts to some point; Scrooge has a business to run and he must drive a hard bargain once in a while, and the nephews are 'excused' on account of their being juveniles. So let us concentrate on Donald instead and see which breaches of law he has committed over the years.

Remarks:
Warning: The sub-pages are not for the faint-hearted or for readers who can see nothing wrong with Donald! Recommendation: In some cases you are required to accept the illustrated examples and the explanatory texts in their widest possible interpretation. The panel examples are partly chosen with a twinkle in the eye in order to amuse you; after all, not even the hot-tempered Donald was as bad as all that! For some of the panels you are best served if you know the stories from which they originate in order to get the full experience. Notice: Regrettably, Donald's list of sins is much, much longer than displayed. Furthermore, you are only presented to one violation of each type, although he is also known as a repeat offender in many cases! Still, Donald and the other primary characters can get away with much more than us readers, and this is how it should be in a funny animal comic book. Disclaimer: A number of the examples are certainly misdemeanours rather than felonies, and this website does not distinguish between more or less serious violations. There is no distinguishing between possible breaches of the law of the time of the stories and possible alterations in the similar law acts of today either. Also, the accompanying texts are not necessarily official legal terms!
