Although Carl Barks was multifacetted as an artist, he is undoubtedly best known for his comic book stories and his oil paintings, which kept him busy for the entire second half of his long life. This page attempts to show certain motifs from his long production - based primarily in his oil paintings - where Barks' work would sometimes run along the same lines. The sub-pages are divided into three categories, and you will be given the opportunity of comparing his work in different media as well as seeing how he developed totally new scenes within the same restricted area. The topic for this page is Barks' multiple Saloon Scenes.

NB.: The rendered paintings are marked with Barks' easily understood, official coding system in which, for example, 68/73 indicates his 68th painting from the year 1973.
