Compared to his contemporary colleagues Carl Barks was by far the most versatile, inventive and conscientious Disney comic book artist. Not only did he make impressive research, write spectacular scripts, and draw memorable panels, but he also placed a lot of graphic details into the latter which only a man with surplus energy and genuine interest in his work would add. One of these groups of details was Barks' knack for placing slogans in his panels. Some are part of the plots, while others are just sitting inconspicuously in the background, but they are there, if you look for them! Here are some examples from both types...

A few of the primary characters revealed personal slogans over time. Beside Gyro's 'Inventor of Anything' shown above, Gladstone sneered his to Donald in WDCS103 'The Maharajah's Ruby': All things come to him who sits and waits! That's my slogan! And in U$25 'The Pyramid Hunt' Scrooge repeats his slogan 'A Cobbler should stay at his last!' as if it was a mantra.
