I never collected coins. Nor did I
collect stamps or whisky bottles or comic books. Just thinking up troubles that
could beset Uncle Scrooge because of his coin collection scared me into a
lifestyle of financial fritterbugging...
- The words are Carl Barks' and his readers certainly benefitted from his
reluctance to be a collector of whatever time-consuming objects he could
have chosen. Instead he incorporated all types of collecting and collectors into
his duck stories, and you will see from the few examples on this page that the
diversity was great and often quite surprising!
You will need to have read some of the
stories mentioned below in order to get full value of the
examples. And there are many more to choose from, but only one panel of an
individual character's specific collecting has been admitted (for instance,
Donald Duck was a Bill Collector in 4 stories but this fact is only mentioned
once).
