2000

Letter from April 2000, to Donald Ault
...Please excuse me for being such a deadhead. The passing of leukemia victims' days is too achy and tiresome to promote movement of a muscle or desire to eat a meal or to even think...
...I'm shopping for some good CDs to play in stereo while I listen to such singers as Bing Crosby and Patti Page sing again the greatest classics of their years in radio.
Sometimes I figure I must be getting old...

Letter from April 23, 2000, to daughter Dorothy
...I am beginning to show my age.
This is probably my last hurrah. Currently I feel weaker and more tired all the time. The leukemia is winning. One of these days I’ll sit down to rest, and not have enough vim to rise from the chair again...
