Some of the primary characters in Carl Barks' funny animal comic book stories tend to be perceived as less than successful in several situations. But although they are seen in an unflattering light, they have all had their red-letter days as well. This page attempts to give a few examples of a specific character in uncharacteristic situations.

1961

Magica makes Scrooge part with his Number One Dime - She throws blinding Poof bombs and immobilizing Foof bombs - She uses disguises - She manipulates the nephews using garlic - She succeeds in kidnapping Scrooge and Donald.

1962

Magica manages to pull an inside job in Scrooge's office - She lures Scrooge and Donald with a dastardly scented Valentine's card - She uses disguises - She uses a spying gadget - She throws blinding Poof bombs - She wears immobilizing perfume.


WDCS265 Raven Mad
1962

Magica succeeds in stealing Scrooge's Number One Dime using a fishing pole trick - She uses blinding Poof bombs - She hypnotizes a raven.


U$38 The Unsafe Safe
1962

Magica manages a sorcery store ('Spells cast, Hexes hexed, Evil eyes refueled, Black cats for rent') - She uses a battery powered stun ray - She uses a persuasion ray to discover Scrooge's secret safe access code - She uses a flock of birds to get home from Africa - She uses a Tanganyika Yeeker to open Scrooge's safe and steals the Number One Dime.


U$40 Oddball Odyssey
1963

Magica lures Scrooge and the Ducks to the mythological sorceress Circe's island - She finds Circe's magical wand - She transforms Scrooge into a mule, the nephews into pigs, and Donald into a goat and then into a turtle in order to force Scrooge to part with his Number One Dime.


U$43 For Old Dime's Sake
1963

Magica summons nature's most destructive forces to crack open the Money Bin using Circe's wand; lightning, cyclones, comets, and meteors - She brews magical concoctions using ghastly gales from Zeus' temple and heinous herbs from Circe's island - She scares the leaves off a potted plant by hissing at it - She uses disguises by clothes and by transformations.


U$45 Isle of the Golden Geese
1963

Magica sends out her raven Ratface to spy on Scrooge - She uses her invention Potion Number 6 that gives her power over the creatures of the deep - She uses her invention Potion Number 7 that gives her power over the creatures of the air - She throws lightning bolts.


U$48 The Many Faces of Magica ...
1964

Magica invents a brew which changes people's faces - She cons two of Scrooge's detectives into thinking that Ratface is Magica - She uses disguises - She tracks down the fleeing Scrooge using her's and Ratface's world-ranging bird telegraph - She uses immobilizing Foof bombs - She applies her brew to Scrooge's face.


U$50 Rug Riders in the Sky
1964

Magica manages to steal Scrooge's flying carpet after having transformed herself into a giant bird - She is able to decipher Persian from ancient scrolls - She winds up in Aladdin's fabulously rich cave - She uses immobilizing Foof bombs - She transforms herself into a giant Roc.
