John N. Carey - 1915-1987

American John Carey started briefly as an animator in the Ub Iwerks Studio in 1937. From the same year and until 1951 he animated Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester and others in the Warner Bros. Studios.
Carey joined Western Publishing in 1950 and stayed there until 1984. He primarily drew stories starring all the old Warner Bros. characters, but later on he also drew Woody Woodpecker and Andy Panda from the Walter Lantz Studios as well as Yogi Bear and Huckleberry Hound from the Hanna-Barbera Studios.
From 1966 Carey drew Disney stories incorporating Donald Duck, the Junior Woodchucks, Goofy, Chip'n'Dale, and many other characters.

 

Anthony 'Tony' Joseph Strobl - 1915-1991

American Tony Strobl had his formal art education at the Cleveland School of Art 1933-1937 and then joined the Disney Studios as an inbetweener and animator on several shorts starring Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse as well as feature films such as Pinocchio and Dumbo.
From 1941 Strobl served in the military and he then joined Western Publishing in 1947, where he stayed until 1968. After that he worked on many projects as a freelancer including work for the Disney Studios as a comic book artist until 1987.

Karran 'Kay' Eccles Wright - 1919-1999

American Kay Wright worked as an inbetweener on Fantasia, Bambi and others at the Disney Studios 1938-1944, and as an animator in the 1950s on Lady and the Tramp and Sleeping Beauty and others.
Wright started at Western Publishing in 1969 and stayed on for the next 15 years. He especially drew stories starring Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Woody Woodpecker, Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound and many others.
In 1988 Wright received the Motion Picture Screen Cartoonists Golden Award.

 

Daniel Jan 'Daan' Jippes - 1945-

Dutch Daan Jippes has had no formal art training. He made his debut in a school magazine in 1963 and in the following years until 1974 he made numerous covers and illustrations for Dutch Disney magazines.
Jippes has worked on several Disney films including Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin as a storyman, but he is probably most widely known for his work on Donald Duck comic book stories, where he often redraws older stories.

Mau Heymans - 1961-

Dutch Mau Heymans started his Disney duck career at Oberon Publishing in 1987. He has specialized in stories starring Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck. One of Heyman's trademarks is his use of background jokes.
In recent years Heymans has been writing some of his own stories.
