It is no longer possible to meet
Carl Barks live, but his work is with us for posterity. Still,
Barks lived the latter part of his life in the age of the video
camera, and a lot of material - some official, some private - was
shot on numerous occasions. Also, his cartoon work (either
directly as cinema cartoons or indirectly as television cartoons)
has been published in several media, and you can find much of it
on the Internet. The picture quality is mostly somewhat inferior
to what we are now used to from DVDs, but it will still give you
many possibilities while researching Barks' life and work.
In the three sub-pages mentioned below (they primarily function
as service pages) you
will get brief information on different aspects of Barks' life
and work as well as links enabling you to study them in detail.
For the first time ever, a multitude of links have been assembled
for easy access. They are collected exclusively from the Internet,
and you must observe that the links given are merely examples,
meaning that it is often that different users have brought the
same subjects forward. This also means that you might be able to
find a specific subject in a better resolution.
Acknowledgement: This website wishes to express its gratitude towards the many contributors as well as the publishing websites, especially YouTube©, that specializes in videos contributed by a great number of private volunteers. They have all done a wonderful job in order to preserve and strengthen Barks' legacy.
