A
CITY DISTRICTS | |||||
It is clear that Duckburg consists
of a number of different districts, of which the poor
district of Shacktown is probably the one with the
greatest impact (FC0367 A Christmas for Shacktown).
A seemingly similar district is situated in an industrial
area with a smoky smelter factory where two poor kids try
to put together a statue made out of the purest snow (WDCS196
'The Snow Princess'). |
HOUSING | |||||
Clearly, Duckburg has both a built-up city core (WDCS046 Camera Crazy) consisting of both uptown and downtown, where the housing standards vary greatly; taking the Beagle Boys' residences as an example they have both lived in a mansion (U$42 The Case of the Sticky Money) and a ramshackle appartment building (FC1184 Mighty But Miserable). Surrounding the city center are large residential areas (WDCS107 'The Super Snooper Story'). |
ADDRESSES | |||||
Duckburg has a plentitude of street names (suggesting it to be of a significant size), and a few of these are also addresses for the primary characters. For instance, the Ducks have lived at (at least) 10 different addresses such as Oak Street (WDCS064 'Temper Control') and 13 Quack Street (WDCS201 'To Dye or Not to Dye'), while Scrooge's best known residence (among at least 6) is Killmotor Hill with his new money bin (WDCS135 'Frozen Assets'). The most common street name in a city is Main Street, and Duckburg has one, too. It is paved with gold (WDCS268 Christmas Cheers)!!! |
WATER SUPPLY | |||||
It would seem that Duckburg is amply provided with water. We have seen nearby reservoirs (WDCS132 'Boonehead - Bonehead' and WDCS201 'The Powerful Dye'), remote dams (FC0386 Only a Poor Old Man and HDL14 Duckmade Disaster), and we have even seen a few unused storage facilities (FC0495 'The Money Bin Tank' and WDCS155 'The Rainbow Heirs'). |
ELECTRICITY | |||||
Obviously, Duckburg's main energy source is electricity, but we have never seen one of the city's power plants. The closest we get is a glimpse of a line repairman (KG Donald Duck Tells about Kites) and Gyro Gearloose's own (over)powering installation (U$13 'Lightning Power'). |
