RELIGION

U$60

WDCS231

Religion is not prevalent in Duckburg, although there are a few indications. It would seem that the Duckburgians are Christians judging from their annual celebrations of Christian holidays (Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day) and the total absence of specially clothed Jews, Sikhs, and Buddhists. The Notre Duck Cathedral (the name narrows the religion down to plausibly being Catholic) in the city is also a dead-giveaway, despite that Barks was very careful to avoid the normal Christian interior details such as crucifixes, altar, pulpit, baptismal font, and bibles (U$60 The Phantom of Notre Duck).
A few times religious figures from the Christian sphere have been portrayed as well; examples are t
he French peasant girl, liberator and saint, Jeanne d'Arc (WDCS231 The Wax Museum), and the devil (WDCS231 The Wax Museum and FC0300 Big-top Bedlam).

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

When reading the stories from Duckburg it would seem that most means of transportation are narrowed down to either walking or driving a car (both private cars and taxis are everywhere), while bicycles are rare occurrences, and trains (for instance, subways) are nonexistent. The only types of public transport seems to be gasoline driven buses (WDCS198 'Knight of the Party') and electric trolley buses (FC0367 A Christmas for Shacktown).

TRANSPORT AREAS

WDCS104

WDCS133

The most often used takeoff place in line of transport is Duckburg's harbour, which has been portrayed in many stories (WDCS104 'The Ping Pong Story'). In second place comes airports, which, granted are logically placed just outside Duckburg (WDCS133 'The Hooky Players'), and we have even had a whole story taking place on an abandoned airfield (U$27 The Money Champ)! But there seems to be a total absence of bus depots and train stations in the Duckburg area.

CITY HALLS

CP9

WDCS201

A city hall is the official center of power in a city, and Duckburg has had more than just one (CP09 Christmas in Duckburg and WDCS201 'The Powerful Dye')!!! This fact seems in line with the numerous mayors that have resided in the city through time!

PARADE BANDS

WDCS151

U$08

Duckburg has a plentitude of bands performing from time to time. Some are music bands (WDCS151 'Easter Parade' and U$08 'Election Campaign'), some are baton-twirling bands (WDCS151 'Easter Parade' and WDCS263 The Candy Kid), and others spring from organisations such as the Junior Woodchucks.
